A Greek-licensed physician reviews your request remotely, before you fly, and decides whether the treatment is appropriate. If approved, they issue a digital prescription to be filled at a licensed pharmacy in Greece.

A prescription from home does not substitute for a Greek one.

Who this route fits — and who it does not

Greece recognises five groups of indications, and cannabis is not a first-line therapy — it is considered where conventional treatments have not helped, were unsuitable or were not tolerated.

  • Treatment-resistant chronic pain that has not responded to other therapies
  • Neuropathic pain — trigeminal neuralgia, post-herpetic pain, phantom limb pain
  • Spasticity in multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury
  • Nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy, radiotherapy or HIV treatment
  • Appetite stimulation in palliative care
  • Inflammatory bowel disease — ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease
What is not on the list Sleep disorders, anxiety or migraine on their own are not recognised indications in Greece. Where they accompany a condition that is on the list, they form part of the clinical picture the physician assesses — but they are not grounds in their own right.
The decision is medical and rests with a Greek-licensed physician, based on an individual assessment and subject to Greek law. Meeting any item above does not guarantee approval. If the physician does not approve, the service fee is refunded in full.

Prohibited in both directions Greece to home: what you buy in Greece stays in Greece. Taking products bought there across a border is a criminal offence in most destinations, including Israel.

Home to Greece: a valid medical cannabis licence from another country grants you nothing here. Bringing cannabis into Greece without prior authorisation from the Greek medicines authority is prohibited.

The only route we support is a local prescription, redeemed and used in Greece.

FAQ

What people ask before they start

Is medical cannabis legal in Greece?
Yes. Legislation regulating medical cannabis has been in place since 2017, and pharmacies began dispensing in February 2024. Use without a prescription remains an offence, and recreational cannabis is not legal in Greece. Oversight sits with the National Organisation for Medicines (EOF).
Do I need a medical cannabis licence from my own country?
No. The process is governed by Greek law alone. The Greek physician performs a fresh, independent assessment. People who have never held a licence anywhere can still be assessed.
Can I bring my own medical cannabis into Greece?
No. A foreign licence or prescription is not valid in Greece, and bringing cannabis in without prior authorisation from the Greek medicines authority is prohibited — with exposure beginning at customs. A notarised translation of a foreign document is not an authorisation and confers no status.
How long does it take?
The questionnaire takes about three minutes. The physician's response time depends on your plan: on Standard, an initial reply within 24 hours and the prescription within 5 business days; on VIP, an initial reply in about an hour during working hours and the prescription within one business day. Starting before you fly is strongly recommended.
What if the physician does not approve?
The service fee is settled on WhatsApp after you send the questionnaire, before the physician reviews it. If they do not approve, the full amount is refunded with no cancellation charge. Full policy.
How much does the product itself cost?
The pharmacy sets that price and it varies by product, concentration and location. It is not within our control and is not included in the service fee. You pay the pharmacy directly.
Who decides the strength and quantity?
The physician alone, based on your situation and subject to Greek regulation. It is not a patient choice. The range available in pharmacies changes over time and between pharmacies.
What happens to my medical information?
It is used solely to pass your request to the physician and have it reviewed. It is not sold and not shared with third parties for marketing. Full details in the privacy policy.
Are you doctors?
No. GreekCloud is an administrative coordination service. We do not issue prescriptions, we are not a pharmacy, we do not sell or transport products, and we do not give medical advice. Every medical decision is made by a Greek-licensed physician.
