Pharmacies are concentrated in Rhodes Town. If you are staying in Faliraki, Lindos or the southern coastal villages, allow 20 to 60 minutes each way. Outside the season some village pharmacies close entirely.

When to come, and what changes
From April to October the island runs at full capacity with frequent direct flights. Between November and March the picture changes completely: coastal villages empty out, many businesses close, and direct flights thin out. Rhodes Town itself continues to operate as an ordinary town throughout.
Planning your timing
The short flight makes Rhodes a long-weekend destination. On that kind of schedule, a prescription that arrives on day three is a prescription you missed. Anyone travelling for three or four days should start before the trip, not during it.

The process is the same everywhere in Greece, and the prescription is valid at any licensed pharmacy in the country, not only in Rhodes. You fill in a questionnaire, a Greek-licensed physician reviews it remotely, before you fly, and decides independently. If approved, you receive a digital prescription in your passport name. At the pharmacy
Redeeming in Rhodes
Redemption itself is short: you walk into a licensed pharmacy, show your passport, and the pharmacist retrieves the digital prescription from the system. This is the only step in the whole process that requires you to be physically in Greece. How redemption works without a Greek social security number.
