We are committed to making this site usable by everyone, including people with disabilities, in line with the Israeli standard IS 5568 and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Act.

Level of accessibility

This site was built to meet IS 5568, which is anchored to WCAG 2.0 level AA. Accessibility was part of the build from the start rather than retrofitted afterwards.

We want to be precise about one thing: the accessibility menu does not, by itself, make this site accessible. It is a comfort tool that lets you adapt the display to your preferences. The accessibility itself is built into the code — in the semantic structure, the contrast, keyboard navigation and screen reader support.

What is accessible

Structure and navigation

A "skip to main content" link as the first element on every page, which genuinely moves focus
Semantic landmarks: header, nav, main, footer
A single h1 per page and a continuous heading hierarchy
Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus state on every interactive element
lang and dir declared correctly on every page, in both languages

Colour and text

Contrast of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text — checked automatically on every page
Light and dark display modes, both meeting the same contrast requirement
Text can be enlarged to 150% without loss of content or function
Information is never conveyed by colour alone

Forms

A visible, associated label on every field
Error messages next to the field itself, not only at the top of the form
aria-invalid marking and an aria-live region announcing status

Privacy and cookies

The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies and loads no third-party scripts
A short privacy notice is shown on a first visit and dismissed with one button
Display preferences are stored in your own browser only and are never sent to a server

Motion

prefers-reduced-motion honoured at system level
A separate reduce-motion preference in the accessibility menu
No flashing, auto-moving or auto-rotating content

The accessibility menu

There is a menu button at the top of every page. You can also open it with Alt + A from anywhere on the site, and close it with Esc.

The menu also holds full navigation to every page on the site, plus:

Theme — system, light or dark
Language — Hebrew or English
Text size — normal, 110%, 125% or 150%
Line spacing — normal, wide or widest
Contrast — normal, high, inverted or greyscale
Underline links — so links are identifiable without relying on colour
Simpler font — replaces the hand-drawn display face with a readable system font
Outline headings — marks every heading with a dashed outline
Large cursor
Reduce motion
Reset — returns everything to its default

In inverted and greyscale contrast modes the menu itself is excluded from the filter — otherwise you could not read the one control needed to switch them back off.

What the panel does not do It does not alter page content, generate alternative text for images, or rewrite ARIA markup. It only applies display preferences that you choose. Your preferences are stored in your own browser and reapplied automatically on your next visit.

Known accessibility limitations

We would rather set out what is not yet finished than claim full accessibility:

No review by a certified service-accessibility expert has been carried out yet. The testing done so far is automated and development-level, and is not a substitute for a professional opinion.
No manual screen reader testing has been carried out yet (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) with real users. We intend to complete this.
The heading font on this site is a hand-drawn face. It was chosen for design reasons, and in some letterforms it can be less legible. That is why the menu offers a "simpler heading font" option, and why narrow screens switch away from it automatically.
The form is not yet connected to an intake system. Until it is, submission is blocked and the message explaining that is shown as text and announced to screen readers.

If you encounter an accessibility problem that is not listed here, we would genuinely like to know. Reports of this kind are treated as a priority.
